you gotta try a little harder, you’re the comeback kid”

items:
shirt: Thrifted, Treasure House
jeans: Ross
shoes: S&M Family Outlet
jumble ring: i love rings (12 12 13 Designs, handmade by my bestie!)
mother of pearl ring: Italy (gift from my older sis)
eReader case: Moleskine (Barnes & Noble)
Today was just a lazy day of hanging out with the sisters. It’s in the mid-seventies here in Austin so cold weather clothes don’t get a chance to shine in the spot light. I opted for a lightweight button-up (button-down?) chambray, jeans, and some sandals for a very casual/still put-together look.
Oh and of course I have to show off my discovery: the Moleskine eReader case!! I must admit (and have actually admitted multiple times.. even as I was purchasing it) that I am a Moleskine snob.. or addict.. whichever you prefer. I’m really excited cause there’s a Moleskine notepad in the case so as I read I can take notes, write down my ideas from literary inspiration, or (as I always carry around my nook) I’ll just always conveniently have a Moleskine around at all times!

I’m back!! Sorry for the lack of Tumblring, though I’m quite sure that hardly anyone other than Lauren, Sam, Bethany, and Christine really noticed, but if you did notice then I give you my thanks! What’s been going on lately? I just graduated college with a degree in French with minors in English and Chemistry. Also, I have relocated to the beautiful and hip capital of Texas! Oh, and I also have a fresh haircut- what i like to say is something of an in-between of Amélie Poulain and Lisbeth Salander (American version of Lisbeth that is).
Having moved and on the hunt for what I’m going to do with my life, I’m pretty anxious about the future. But at least graduating has afforded me some more time and opportunity to do some upkeep with this blog. I am living with my sister and due to space conservation, I have drastically cut down my wardrobe. I could complain about this, but, hey, it’s a first world problem and plus it’ll help me be more creative in my pairings.
Thanks again to everyone who’s stayed on and I hope to be able to bring you some fun posts as you scroll through your dash!

I really hope everyone’s had as fun and exciting weekend as I have cause I must say I’ve had a blast!! From creme brulee and game night friday to Austin and Anthropologie saturday/sunday to Dallas and Matt & Kim sunday/monday, it’s been one eventful weekend.
I wore this for hanging out with my girls friday night. I was already wearing the top and cardi for work and decided to pair them up with these stripey shorts for a stripe explosion! I think if all the stripes looked very similar a head-to-toe stripe look would probably not work out so well, but this outfit seems to work out together because of all the different types of stripes. Fun project for the summer: see how many patterns you can mix together in one outfit haha

And story lines
Curtains close, credits roll
And all my fancy books
Are just for looks”

items:
dress: Joie (S&M Family Outlet $10)
cardigan: Target ($8!)
belt: Forever 21
shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo (Vintage, Thrifted- Treasure House)
Only a week ‘til I get to go see Matt & Kim in Dallas! Soooooo excited! In other news we’re definitely feeling the lack of rain down here. It’s about a million degrees down here and as you can see I can hardly stand having a cardigan on outside, but as it’s always freezing in church I was more than glad to pair this cardi and dress.

Outfit for Tuesday, May 31 (My mama’s birthday!!)
“Outside the cars are beeping
a song just in your honor
and though they do not know it
all mankind are now your brothers”

items:
top: Express (hand me down)
skirt: Vintage (h.m.d. self hemmed)
cardigan & shoes: Target
belt: Forever 21
I found this cardi at Target for 75% off in my size and I just knew that it was meant to be! This is what I wore to the office, but I had a music meeting after and was able to do a quick change into some shorts whilst nixing the belt which actually turned out real cute so that’ll have to be a repeat outfit that I actually photograph. Although today’s my mama’s birthday I did not get to see her cause of both of our work schedules, but we’ll definitely make it up soon: perhaps some delicious Thai food at Chaba??
